My name is Miajavon Coleman and I'm a senior here at Coppin. I chose Coppin specifically for volleyball my senior year of high school in 2018. I came here on an official visit Coach Walsh brought me up here. We went on a tour, I was able to meet some of the girls on the team at the time, and I really appreciated the family aspect that he brought to the university and for the program.
My name is Justin Evans. I'm a senior here at the illustrious Coppin State University. I'm from Buffalo, New York. And my major is Business Management with a minor in Political Science No institution is like Coppin State University. There's a big family or that sits around campus when you're walking to and from class. It takes five minutes to get to the Cafe, but it might take you 15-20 minutes because you're having multiple conversations as you're walking through campus.
Serving as our students' Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at the great Coppin State University, my mission is to ensure that they have voice that they're seen, and that their experience will be life changing.
My name is Ronald C. Williams and I am an Associate Professor of Management in the College of Business and the Department of Management and Marketing. I've been teaching here at Coppin for 27 years. But I've been in higher ed for 38 years. In terms of the growth and development of the university, it's been a great deal, not only in the physical plant itself, because there's been a lot of building and construction over my 27-year tenure. There's the new Physical Education Complex, the new dormitory dining facility on the south side of North Avenue. None of that was there when I first arrived.
Coppin has transformed my life because it allowed me to be myself to the fullest. It allowed me to make mistakes. It allowed me to strive. They allowed me to cry. It allowed me to laugh. It allows me to be around like minded, successful young black leaders in -- from all over the world -- because I'm from Buffalo, New York. We have kids from Colombia. We have kids from California. We have kids from Florida, so [it] allowed me to connect with other young, bright minds in the world and in Baltimore, Maryland.
