I am Dr. Pamela Richardson Wilks and I serve as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the great Coppin State University. We are looking to focus our academics with regard to being tied to research, as well as how that research encompasses and grows, opportunities for community engagement as well as student preparation for the workforce.

My name is Keylin Perez and I'm a senior here at Coppin State University. I picked Coppin because I wanted a small university, somewhere that could cultivate into me and I could cultivate to others and just being in a family-oriented environment. And ever since I came to the college orientation, they knew exactly what I needed.

My name is Dr. Johnny Rice II, I'm Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Coppin State University. The Department of Criminal Justice prepares our students scholars to pursue careers in law enforcement, the courts, corrections, as well as community-based nonviolent organizations. Our goal is to ensure that our students are competent and capable and able to compete in our competitive society.

My name is Dr. Denyce Watties-Daniels. I'm an Associate Professor here at Coppin State University. I'm the Director of the Simulation Center here in the College of Health Professions. I am a faculty in the College of Health Professions. To look at the campus now is what they promised the neighborhood almost 60 years ago. They always said they were going to come across the street coming across North Avenue. They always said they were going to build and change the landscape of his neighborhood. I remember listening to my parents talk about that. And then to see it come to fruition is very exciting. It's this is an oasis. This is an oasis in West Baltimore.

Coppin State University started out as a teacher's college. And so in that sense, we're in that vein, we still continue that with our School of Education.

Our average population student age is of the age of 26. We do have an increase in our first-time freshmen entering our institution which are living within our two residence halls on campus. We currently have 624 beds that will accommodate any first-time freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, attending and furthering your education here at Coppin State University.

Hello, I'm Stephanie Leggett, and I'm a non-traditional student here at Coppin University. I think that it is imperative that those of you who are non-traditional students like myself, who are trying to change what it is that you do in your careers, or you just want to enter a new workforce in general, that Coppin is a school that you really should consider. They take in consideration that you have a family. They take into consideration that you have an outside life outside of school. I enjoyed it here. I've enjoyed all of my time here. And I enjoyed all the students in all of the professors and everyone that we've come across here at Coppin.

The state of our university is strong. We've just had a ribbon cutting for our Eagle Achievement Center which puts greater focus on our students' success and their completion rates. We have so many things going on at Coppin. You need to find out more about why the Eagle Nation is soaring so high. Come visit us at coppin.edu. Find out more about how to become a student, earn a degree finish your degree, get involved, get connected, become a better you whatever it is you want to accomplish, Coppin can help you get there!
